How a child creates a first website

Academy

A website does not start with code

First the child decides what the page is for: who needs it, what a visitor sees first and which action they should take.

Structure

The page is divided into a header, a main screen, a description, cards, images, buttons and contacts. That is how an understanding of information architecture appears.

A finished example as the base

A good template makes the structure of a website easier to see. The teacher explains the blocks, then the child changes the content and gradually turns the base into their own project.

Design and ease of use

The student meets contrast, text size, spacing, colour and visual hierarchy. The goal is a clear page, not the largest number of effects.

Computer and phone

The project is checked at different screen sizes so the child can see why responsive design is needed.

The finish

The result is a web project of their own and an understanding of the cycle: idea, structure, content, design, assembly, check.
